About This Tool
Why use Currency Converter?
Convert between major currencies using exchange rates fetched live when the page loads. Pick the currencies, enter an amount and the converted figure and the rate used are both shown, with a swap button to reverse the direction.
The rate you see here is a mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell prices in the interbank market. It is the honest reference rate, but it is not what you will be charged: banks and card networks add a spread of roughly 0.5% to 3%, and airport bureaux far more. Use this figure to judge whether an offered rate is fair, not to predict the exact amount that leaves your account.
Key Benefits
Live mid-market rates
Rates are fetched when the page loads rather than hard-coded, so they reflect current market levels.
Rate shown, not hidden
The exact rate used is displayed so you can compare it with what a bank or card is offering.

Currency Converter FAQs
Are these the rates I will actually get?
No. These are mid-market rates. Banks, cards and exchange services add a margin, typically 0.5–3%, plus any fixed fee.
How often do the rates update?
They are fetched when the page loads. Reload the page for the latest figures; currency markets move continuously on weekdays.
Why do two services show different rates?
Each applies its own spread to the mid-market rate, and some quote at different moments. The mid-market figure is the benchmark to compare them against.
What is the cheapest way to exchange currency?
Usually a card or transfer service that charges close to the mid-market rate with a transparent fee. Avoid airport counters and "dynamic currency conversion", where a terminal offers to charge you in your home currency at a poor rate.
