About This Tool

Why use Text to HTML?

Turn plain text into HTML paragraphs. Each non-empty line becomes a <p> element and blank lines become <br/>, and every character is escaped on the way through — ampersands, angle brackets and quotes are converted to entities, so nothing in your text can break the markup or carry a stray tag into the page you paste it into.

That escaping is the part a hand-rolled converter usually skips, and it is what makes the output safe to paste into a CMS. Text copied out of an email, a chat or a document often contains an ampersand in a company name or an angle bracket in a quoted line; unescaped, those produce invalid markup at best. This tool handles it, so what you get back is valid HTML you can drop straight into a template.

Key Benefits

Everything is escaped

&, <, >, quotes and apostrophes become entities, so the markup stays valid whatever your text contains.

Paragraphs, not one blob

Each line becomes its own <p>, so the text keeps its structure instead of running together on the page.

Clean, minimal markup

No inline styles, no wrapper divs and no editor cruft — just paragraphs your own stylesheet can format.

Text to HTML FAQs

Is my text escaped?

Yes. Ampersands, angle brackets, quotes and apostrophes are all converted to HTML entities, so the output is valid markup and nothing in your text becomes an active tag.

How are line breaks handled?

Each non-empty line becomes a paragraph element, and blank lines become <br/>, so the structure of your text carries over.

Does it add any styling?

No. You get plain semantic paragraphs with no inline styles or classes, so your own stylesheet controls how they look.

What if my text is already Markdown?

Use the Markdown to HTML tool instead. This one treats everything as literal text, so Markdown syntax would come through as visible characters.
