About This Tool
Why use Text to CSV?
Turn a pasted list into proper CSV. Each line becomes a row, each line is split on the delimiter you choose, and the result is re-emitted by Papa Parse with correct quoting — so a field containing a comma is wrapped rather than splitting into two columns when the file is opened.
Choosing the delimiter separately from the output format is the point. Data arrives tab-separated from a spreadsheet, pipe-separated from a database console, or comma-separated from an export, and all of it has to become valid comma-separated CSV before Excel or an importer will read it correctly. That is what this does.
Key Benefits
Delimiter you choose
Input split on commas, tabs, pipes or semicolons, while the output is always correctly quoted CSV.
Proper escaping
Values containing commas, quotes or line breaks are escaped to the CSV specification, so spreadsheets read every column correctly.
Download as a file
Take the result as a .csv ready to open in Excel or feed to an importer, not just as text on screen.

Text to CSV FAQs
Which delimiters can my input use?
Comma, tab, pipe or semicolon. Pick whichever separates the fields in what you pasted; the output is always standard comma-separated CSV.
What if a value contains a comma?
It is quoted and escaped automatically, so the field stays whole when the CSV is opened rather than splitting into two columns.
Does the first line become a header?
The first line is treated as a row like any other. If you want a header, put your column names on the first line of the input.
Is my list uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so contact lists and exports stay on your device.
