About This Tool
Why use CSV to Excel?
Convert a CSV file into a real .xlsx workbook. The CSV is parsed with SheetJS and written straight out as an Excel file, so it opens as a proper spreadsheet with cells and columns rather than as one long column of comma-separated text.
Double-clicking a CSV works until it does not. Excel guesses at the delimiter and the encoding, and its guesses turn 01234 into 1234, read ID codes as dates, and mangle accented characters when the locale does not match. Converting first produces a file Excel opens without an import dialogue and without applying any of those guesses on the way in.
Key Benefits
A genuine .xlsx file
The output is a real Office Open XML workbook, not a CSV renamed, so Excel opens it directly with no import wizard.
No import dialogue
Delimiter and encoding are handled during the conversion instead of being guessed at by Excel when you open the file.
Converted in your browser
Exports containing customer or financial data are parsed locally and never uploaded.

CSV to Excel FAQs
Why not just rename the .csv to .xlsx?
Because they are completely different formats. A renamed CSV will not open as a workbook — Excel will either refuse it or warn that the file is corrupt. It has to be converted.
Will my leading zeros survive?
Converting avoids Excel's own import guessing, but Excel can still reformat a cell on display. For codes and IDs that must keep leading zeros, format the column as text in Excel after opening.
Are formulas created?
No. A CSV contains only values, so the workbook contains values. There is nothing in the source file to turn into a formula.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The CSV is read and the workbook written in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
