About This Tool
Why use PDF Rotate?
Fix a PDF that opens sideways or upside down. Choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees and the rotation is added to every page's existing rotation with pdf-lib, then the document is saved again — the page content is not re-rendered, so nothing loses quality.
Sideways pages are almost always the result of a scanner fed the wrong way round or a phone held in landscape. The rotation is stored as a property of each page, which is why the fix is instant and lossless: readers, printers and previewers all honour it, so the document finally prints and displays the right way up.
Key Benefits
Completely lossless
Rotation is stored as a page property rather than redrawn, so text stays selectable and images keep their original quality.
Adds to existing rotation
The turn is applied on top of whatever rotation the page already had, so pages that were already turned end up where you expect.
Instant on long documents
Because nothing is re-rendered, a 200-page scan rotates as quickly as a single page.

PDF Rotate FAQs
Can I rotate only some pages?
No — the rotation is applied to every page. If only part of the document is sideways, split those pages out, rotate them, then merge the file back together.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. The rotation is recorded as a property of each page and the content is never redrawn, so the file is visually identical apart from its orientation.
Which angle do I need?
90 degrees turns pages a quarter turn clockwise, 270 does the same anticlockwise, and 180 flips upside-down pages the right way up.
Will the rotation stick in every reader?
Yes. Page rotation is part of the PDF specification, so Acrobat, browsers, phones and printers all honour it.
